I would like to stop and take a moment to talk with you about what creates personal power. People call me everyday and share with me that they think they are overweight because they have no self-discipline or willpower. They are wrong. Self-discipline and willpower come and go like a snooze alarm depending on what is going on in your life. Therefore, you cannot depend on them.
Let’s talk about what creates personal power. It is really about 2 words; want and payoff.
First, let’s talk about payoff. Ask yourself this question…does anyone go after something without a payoff? Think about it for a moment. If you wanted to be a doctor, you would have to go to medical school for years. You do this because your payoff is becoming a doctor. You wanted it enough!
Want and payoff are connected. If your payoff is become thinner permanently, you have to want it enough to make it happen. Yes, wanting it enough IS your personal power that will get you to your payoff.
Next, you need a plan. You need a plan that WORKS! You need a personal guide through that plan, whether that is a personal coach with whom you work or yourself (if you are truly ready and no longer accepting NO as an answer for yourself). With that, you can take a deep breath and feel a calmness come over you. With clarity about your want and your payoff, along with a guiding coach to hold your hand when you need that and who will push you when you need that, your will be able to free yourself from the bondage of being overweight…forever!
Being overweight has nothing to do with food, but everything to do with you; how you think about food, how you use food, your relationship with food. When you learn to change your relationship with food, you create a lifestyle that is positive. Your body is spiritual, therefore, your body will respond positively when you lose your excess weight. You will experience better health, a thinner body, more energy and higher self-esteem.
